I love using nature as a metaphor to bring clarity to everyday challenges—especially when it comes to boundaries.
Think of boundaries in terms of tectonic movement: divergent, convergent, and transform.
- When our boundaries are too divergent, we drift so far apart that compromise becomes impossible.
- When they are too convergent, we clash—risking conflict, overwhelm, or enmeshment.
- But when we allow our boundaries to move in parallel—like transform boundaries—we create space for mutual movement and growth. From this stance, transformation becomes possible.
